  The piston in the shock absorber moves downward as the car's wheels move closer to the body and the shock absorber is compressed. As the volume of the lower chamber of the piston decreases and the oil pressure increases, the oil flows through the flow valve to the upper chamber (upper chamber) above the piston. The upper chamber is occupied by the piston rod part of the space, so the increased volume of the upper chamber is smaller than the reduced volume of the lower chamber, part of the oil then pushed away the compression valve, flow back to the storage cylinder. The oil savings of these valves form the damping force of the suspension under compression motion. The shock absorber is pulled away from the car, and the shock absorber's piston moves up. The oil pressure in the upper chamber of the piston rises, the flow valve closes, and the oil in the upper chamber pushes the stretching valve and flows into the lower chamber. Due to the existence of piston rod, the oil flowing from the upper cavity is not enough to fill the increased volume of the lower cavity, which mainly makes the lower cavity produce a vacuum degree. At this time, the oil in the storage cylinder pushes the compensation valve and flows into the lower cavity to supplement. As a result of the throttle action of these valves, so the suspension in doing stretching movement play a damping role.
